Abstract

lndonesia still upholds clrstolns and culture. Gender roles reiate to a person's attitudes and behavior that are shaped by the sociai environment. The traditional model views t-emininity and trascuiiniry as two conlradictoly differences. Meanu,hile, the rnoderrt rnodel views that a u,otnarr or a rrarl can have both f-emininity and masculinity (androgynous) traits, u,hich are hereinafter referred to as sex roies. Several factors relatcd to sexual activity are rnatemal characteristics including education, pariry-, employment status and gestational age.
